An interesting collection of items and ephemera from the effects of Captain Barton REME. Captain Barton served in WWII with the allied forces occupation of Japan shortly after the dropping of the Hiroshima bomb and include his swagger stick, a cased Beck marching compass, a broad arrow marked Chesterman of Sheffield steel 20ft tape measure, field service pocket book, 1945 US 6th army map of Kure prefecture HIROSHIMA, an original information book to occupation forces with an overview of how to interact with the Japanese people and a selection of Japanese currency. Captain Barton was an engineer and interestingly has returned with a cased Japanese YEW ampmeter. A fascinating lot.
