EDGAR DEGAS (French, 1834-1917). Study 1875 'Deux Danseuses' lithograph on Japan paper of a young dancer with indistinct French writing. "Degas" Estate signature in red stamped on bottom left (red a little faded), with adjacent embossed stamp to left of signature, as shown. The red signature indicates that this, along with many other drawings, pastels, paintings, monotypes, and lithographs from Degas's atelier, originated from his estate sales in 1918 and 1919. Frame size 60cm x 47cm. Note minor damage (two small tears) to the paper. A remarkable piece!
