An amazing large Japanese SAMURAI / DAIMYO Commander rank hollow cast horned KABUTO helmet MEMPO (mask) sculpture bust on marble style plinth. Designed to intimidate enemies the helmet was an inportant element of armour worn by the Samurai class in feudal Japan. The KABUTO had laced, laquered scales or KOZANE designed to protect the nape of the neck, the KOZANZE originaly made of leather and later replaced by steel. A substantial and amazing piece.

A impressive bronze statue of PAN playing his pipes. Standing approx 80cm tall. Pan is the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, rustic music and impromptus, and companion of the nymphs. He has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat, in the same manner as a faun or satyr. Unusually this depiction has him playing what appears to be rudimentary bagpipes. A very impressive looking item which would look stunning indoors or out
