Guide price: £15-30

Two mounted prints by BENJAMIN CHEE CHEE,- "Spring Flight" and "Friends". Also one other Canadian interest print by RICHARD HUNT entitled LOON.
Born in Temagami, Ontario Canada, Chee Chee largely taught himself to draw and paint. His father died when he was two months old and he lost track of his mother. One reason behind his drive for success as a painter was his ambition to be reunited with his mother. At the age of thirty-two and at the height of a new found success as an artist and printmaker, Chee Chee died tragically by committing suicide.
Richard Hunt has become of the North West Coast native cultural renaissance. He was born a Kwa-Gulth of the Kwakiutl nation in Alert Bay, B.C. and is the grandson of the legendary chief, Mungo Martin. Richard is chief carver for the B.C. Provincial Museum where he restores and recreates ancient pieces of his people's artworks.
