A 375 hallmarked double-sided oval miniature portraits of HENRIETTA MIDDLETON by MARY ROBERTS, one of the set of five miniatures which portrays a group of cousins, the children of brothers William (1710-1775) and Henry (1717-1784) Middleton of Charleston, South Carolina, and Suffolk, England.
The miniature portrait appears to be hand painted on silk (see picture), an antique copy of the original portrait? and verso portrait appears on shiny paper/almost photographic in appearance - we have tried to give a fair assessment of this charming item - any further queries welcome!
