Cask #1902 Distilled 1954, Bottled 2002. 700ml. 52% Vol. One of only 366 bottles produced. *Note the cork has been compromised by the vendors curious teenage son many years ago and the bottom half is within the bottle with some residual flecks. Note also the bottom half of the cork only fell in to the whisky in transit to the auction house! Note also the son is a keen whisky enthusiast to this day. The loss is minimal for age, a loss of approx 4cm from the bottle neck. The label is intact and clean. Following the loss of the cork, the bottle was safely stored and the contents are as distilled / bottled. Similar intact bottles have sold for £30,000!! We are able to re-cork this if requested. Due to the value on this lot, collection in person is advised though we can send this through Royal Mail Special Delivery at the buyers risk.

Initial sensation is a Powerful Blast , Smooth, Earthy, Not Peaty, fills your mouth quickly, followed by a smooth long lingering soft taste of wild blueberries and tayberries.

Composed in 1923, whilst on holiday in Antibes, France, The Pipes of Pan is the crowning achievement of Picasso's neoclassical period of the 1920s. The Pipes of Pan is regarded as the most important painting of this period, not only because of its theme, but also because it draws upon classical interpretations of art in a new and modern style. This monumental painting depicts a mythological scene, set in the Mediterranean, in which two classical figures stare out towards a lost Arcadia, Pans homeland. The figures are heavy, sculptural and contemplative. In the painting Picasso transforms Pan, the ancient Greek god of shepherds and flocks who has the hind legs and horns of a goat, into a young boy. Picasso's Pan reveals none of the laziness or lustiness of the original Greek god. The origins of Pan's pipes lie in the ancient Greek tale of Syrinx, who was pursued by the amorous Pan and chased into a river, whereby she turned into a hollow reed. Pan then cut the reeds and fashioned them into the first musical pipes. Bechstein Service in Germany have advised that case number #28431 suggests a production date of ''roughly 1906-1907'' The piano was owned laterally by a local Peebles music teacher who spent her life lovingly caring after her piano, owned from the 70's approx and regularly tuned - the piano was tuned around 6-8 months ago but we notice that one of the hammers sticks occasionally - an easy fix by a piano tuner - the piano is absolute quality and what a lovely tone!
