A fantastic collection of a variety of illustrated newspaper supplements dating between 1862 and 1915 to include "The Illustrated London News", "The War Illustrated", "The Graphic", "The Album", "The Graphic War Budget" and "The Sketch" among others. The newspapers dating over 100 years old are generally in remarkably good condition but with some dog-ears, small tears and age-related yellowing.

Two rare books of especial PEEBLES INTEREST - The book the Eastgate show was based upon - a first edition copy of CHRONICLES FROM PEEBLES BRIGGATE and Angling Haunts of the Shire by JAMES GROSART, reprinted from THE PEEBLES NEWS published by JA Kerr 1899, green board covers with cloth spine with gilt lettering, slight separation of some pages from spine, and also THE THREE TALES OF THE THREE PRIESTS OF PEEBLES by CLEMENT BRYCE GUNN MD with Illustrations and Copious Notes. Rendered from the Ancient Scots Vernacular into Modern Scottish published by James Lewis, publisher of Selkirk in 1894 bound in faded red cloth with gilt Peebles arms on front cover, hand-cut pages with some foxing, inscription on endpiece.
