North British Railway guards handlamp stamped BULLPITT AND SONS BIRMINGHAM C&M 1887. Complete with all glasses, reservoir and burner. Note inside ' This lamp belonged to a Mr Downie a driver who retired in 1935. He used to drive goods trains down the Borders County Railway. Mr Downies son also was a fitter at St Margaret's Engine Sheds. He later left the railway to become and engineer at Portobello Power station. The lamp has been heavily overpainted in white.
