A limited edition print by PIET MONDRIAN (1872-1944) titled "Composition II in red, blue and yellow, 1930" This actual print was printed in London and is one from the published edition which was strictly limited to 85 copies Worldwide (numbered in the publishers frank). It will be supplied with a replacement valuation for £1800 (free of charge). It will be accompanied with a certificate of authenticity which verifies this is number of the edition. It has also signed by the Master Printer. It has been printed to the highest standard with lightfast inks onto acid-free calcium carbonate-buffered stock, mould-made from 100% cotton. It has been professionally mounted and framed. Mondrian was born in Holland in 1872 and was determined to become a painter from a young age. He qualified with a teaching degree in 1892, but enrolled for painting lessons, before moving to Amsterdam and registering at the Rijksacademie. Mondrian became a member of the art society Kunstliefde "Art Lovers" in Utrecht, where his first paintings were exhibited in 1893. He experimented with many different styles including naturalistic, impressionist and painting many landscapes of his native country. In 1911 he moved to Paris and the influence of Cubism, as evidenced by Picasso and Braque, started to appear almost immediately in his work. He spent the duration of the First World War back in Holland and continued his journey towards abstraction. After the War had finished Mondrian returned to France. He then moved to London in 1938 but relocated to New York just two years later in 1940, where he remained until his death. Mondrian is well known for his contribution to the development of modern abstract art. He strove to portray an extreme formal purity through his combination of simplistic straight lines and bold primary colours. The Image: Mondrian spent the period 1914-1918 (World War I) back at his home in Holland and during this time, he decided to work on an abstract art form which was later classified as Neoplastic style. This work was depicted by lighter colours, simplified colour selection and forms that were balanced in their composition. This work is a result of Mondrian joining the abstraction-creation line which was open to new styles, new techniques and at this time Mondrian began to be fascinated with the idea of the line and dismantling the very definition of painting. He argued that drawing and draughtsmanship which were exemplified in the line, had always lain at the heart of painting from the Renaissance artists to the Impressionists to the Modernists and no one had ever thought to challenge that.. A limited edition print by PABLO PICASSO (one of only 50 worldwide) title: Mans Head; Tete D'Homme, 1969, Supplied with certificate (signed by the Master Printer). Bespoke special mount and professionally framed, image approx 19x25cm. Excellent condition. Please note: supplied with replacement valuation certificate for £1790 (free of charge). Notes on the image: Tete D'Homme is a remarkable example of Picasso's mature style; brimming with painterly verve and stylish invention. Picasso's astonishing capacity for handling paint is wonderfully present in Tete D'Homme. Lustrous colours cover the centre of the canvas endowing the figure with a startlingly vivid presence. Throughout his oeuvre, Picasso's images of the male figure embody masculine power, and are rendered with a bravuric intensity "I have less and less time and I have more and more to say" commented Picasso in his last decade, and the freedom and spontaneity of his mature work, together with the recourse to archetypal figures and symbols is visual evidence of this. The seemingly limitless energy that characterizes so much of his work is extant in this final burst of creativity, as well as a conscious decision to allow himself total liberty with both style and subject matter. Having gone through so many phases of stylistic and technical experimentation, Picasso now pared down his style in order to paint monumental works in quick, spontaneous brush strokes. Rather than ponder the details of human anatomy and perspective, the artist isolated those elements of his subject that fascinated and preoccupied him, and depicted them with an extraordinary sense of wit entirely of his own.. This limited edition print titled "Nympheas, 1906" by CLAUDE MONET has been limited to only 95 pieces worldwide. It has been professionally mounted and framed to a very high standard. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity, signed by the Master Printer. Note: also supplied with a replacement valuation for £1800 along with biographical details on the artist. (Free of charge). Condition is excellent. Although the garden was a favoured subject for many of the Impressionists, no artist rivalled Monet in his dedication to the theme. Monet and his family moved to Giverny in April 1883. On his arrival there, Monet rented a large house on two acres of land, and subsequently bought it when it came up for sale in 1890. Early in 1893 Monet acquired an adjacent plot of land and by autumn he had converted nearly one thousand square metres into a lavish lily pond, spanned by a wooden footbridge and surrounded by an artful arrangement of flowers, trees and bushes. Monet did not begin work on his water-lily series immediately, however. It was not until 1904, following the enormously successful exhibition of his paintings from London, that Monet began to focus on the surface of the lily-pond as a subject, and this would almost remain his exclusive subject for the duration of his career. He completed more than sixty views of the pond between 1905 and 1908, repeatedly postponing the opening of the Nympheas exhibition at Durand-Ruel. When the show finally opened in May 1909, it was an unqualified success.. H: 107cm W: 123cm D: 4cm

A limited edition print by PABLO PICASSO titled "Femme Ecrivant which has been professionally framed in an expensive hand made frame and Art mounted. Supplied with signed certificate of authenticity (signed by the Master Printer) and numbered in the embossed stamp, one of only 91 published Worldwide. Note: supplied with a replacement valuation certificate for £1800 along with biographical details on the artist (free of charge). During the years 1927 until 1935, Picasso was besotted by Marie Therese. For him, she had a very arresting face with a Grecian profile and he adored her blonde hair, so she became not only his muse but a great model. During this period, Picasso had an amazing creative explosion of work, due to her youthful innocence, undying devotion and great vitality and his work became an expression of his love and worship for her. The painting was created at a picturesque chateau in a small Normandy village which Picasso had purchased in 1930 and there Marie-Therese spent the week whilst Picassos wife Olga was only there at the weekends. Pablo Picasso was undoubtedly the most influential artist of the twentieth century and perhaps the greatest artist of all time. During his lifetime, his personality dominated the development of visual arts and he provided the inspiration or most of the enormous and revolutionary changes which took place. Picasso was born in Spain in 1881 and began to paint precociously at the age of seven under his father's tutelage. He studied at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts and by the turn of the century he was shuttling between Barcelona and Paris establishing his reputation. He is perhaps best known for co-founding the "Cubist" movement but his work embraced and inspired an enormous variety of styles and techniques, ranging from painting and sculpture to etching and lino-cutting. Picasso was married twice and had four children by three women; he also maintained a number of mistresses, some of whom played a significant role in the development of his work. He died in April 1973, unquestionably the most significant name in twentieth century art.. H: 85cm W: 76cm D: 6cm

An original watercolour by the English artist JOHN CHISNALL. Title "St. Paul's". This very fine original painting has been professionally mounted, ready to be framed and is in excellent condition. John Chisnall was born in Carshalton, Surrey in 1943 where he spent the first twenty years of his life. He had a very successful career in the public sector, managing the design and construction of a wide range of buildings and civil engineering structures for the government estate. The professional experience gained in this field has given him extensive knowledge of many of the subjects he now explores in his paintings. He developed his interest in painting and drawing in parallel with his primary career until, gradually, these activities gained more importance and in 1992 he left public service in order to spend more time painting. John Chisnall has painted in various media throughout his life and now works mainly in watercolour, finding this medium well suited to catching both the atmosphere and the detail of a place. Largely self taught, although he did spend three years at Sutton School of Art studying life drawing, his paintings are direct celebrations of visual pleasures and ignore the darker sides of modern life. Exhibiting extensively in galleries throughout the UK, he has had six one-man shows in the last 15 years and has illustrated several books on local villages and parishes in Surrey. His pictures are held in collections as far-a-field as the USA and Australia. He is also a regular cartoonist with several magazines.. H: 72cm W: 84cm D: 1cm
