COLD WAR INTEREST British Army on The Rhine (BAOR) 1969 EXERCISE THISTLEDOWN agenda and plans including contemporary maps of Germany. Fascinating reading about departing from Turnhouse, plans for deployment etc.

Lot 246
WWI Medal Pair to Scottish soldier Corporal Charles Comfort 42331 Highland Light Infantry. Killed in Action France 25th November 1917. Medal pair in original boxes with envelope to his mother in Fraserburgh. Also includes a nice matching named memorial card. Charles is buried in Passchendaele New British Cemetery CWGC Cemetery/Memorial West-Vlaanderen Belgium. Given the dates it seems Charles may have either succumbed to wounds following Third Ypres or befell some other tragedy having survived the battle. As always with these groups this is a lovely poignant memory of a lad of 21 years. .

FRENCH MILITARY 19th C. GOLD EPAULETTES, NAPOLEON III ERA, NAMED ORIGINAL BOX VGC, superb original NAMED used pair of 19th Cen. French military GOLD BULLION EPAULATTES from Napoleon III era in original maker's box (epaulettes are in very good used condition with full gold bullion tassels) marked "M.B." to the underside sliders and with a Fusilier type button attachment. Good honest signs of age/wear. Card box is a little tatty but still has original maker's label "Kauffmann Blum, Fournisseur de L' Armee, 11 Avenue de La Motte-Piccquet, 11, Paris" and the owners label for a Captain "H.B. Done".

ADOLF HITLER Bilder Aus Dem Leben Des Fuhrers (Pictures from the life of the leader). Cigarette Card album 1st Edition 132 pages complete with all pictures which have been carefully attached. Published by Herausgegeben vom Cigarettern/Bilderdienst of Hamburg ca. 1936. Foreword by Goring and Goebbels. Slight wear at the corners, spine good with no loose pages. A fine collectible example of the Nazi propagandists art.
