Britannia Standard Silver hallmarked handled bowl (958) carrying full Lion, Britannia and date letter Q hallmarks with makers stamp AP FP (Arthur Martin Parsons & Frank Herbert Parsons trading as Vander & Hedges then as Tessiers, New Bond Street, London) The bowl has a Tessier stamp to base. Measures 13cm in diameter approx. Weight 326g approx. 'Presented by the Court of Directors of the Bank of England to Theodore V Deacon, for services rendered as Special Constable at the Liverpool Branch during the riots of 1911. With Bank of England Britannia and Beehive Armorial crest and inscription relating to the General Transport riots of 1911, I was unable to establish the story behind this presentation but he must have performed his duty bravely to have been presented with this substantial piece. Some minor dents noted.
