VICTORIAN CORAMANDEL WOOD VANITY CASE of the absolute finest quality, fully complete with matched bottles and silver tops all carrying matching young head Victorian hall marks for London 1868. All hallmarks are W.N. for William Neal. Incredible that all the bottles are still in place, undamaged and the three smaller bottles even have the internal glass stoppers. Note the quality that even the escutcheons, lock plate and the hinges are engraved silver albeit without hall marks. The lid interior has a small brass button which enables the mirror to be shown or reversed to display the lovely rucked blue velvet cloth. The button on the rear middle pops out the secret bottom drawer with a lovely firm and smooth motion. The two side lifting handles for the internal tray are still in place and the tray fits beautifully. Measures 30 x 23 x 18 cm approx. The lid lock plate is missing and there is no key. The ladies silver pocket watch and silver hallmarked propelling pencil are clearly later additions. Surely one of the finest examples currently available.
