Major-General Thomas Tait Pitman, CB, CMG, JP (1868–1941). 11th HUSSARS. WAR DIARIES WWI, Original typed diaries 1914/1915 with some hand drawn maps and much detailed information on trenches, casualties, engagements, positioning, trench work etc. An absolutely fascinating collection. The 11th Hussars were deployed to France in August 1914 as part of the 1st Cavalry Brigade and as such participated in the first struggles of the war. Loose letters and hand drawn maps included. A fascinating lot, hours of reading and research!

Lot 217
The WWII Medals, ephemera and effects of TOM FREEMAN KEEL Burma Star Association. Lot comprises Burma Star trio mounted for wear with award slip, cloth, additional Burma Star and later modern cased Line Of Duty Medal. Burma Star Beret and a photo of the chap in question. His real name during service was Eric Keel Tompkins, apparently quite a chap who liked the women and was a bit of a charmer having two girlfriends into his eighties. He published books post war, two signed copies of which are included.
