Measures 13cm in diameter approx. Weight 326g approx. 'Presented by the Court of Directors of the Bank of England to Theodore V Deacon, for services rendered as Special Constable at the Liverpool Branch during the riots of 1911. With Bank of England Britannia and Beehive Armorial crest and inscription relating to the General Transport riots of 1911, I was unable to establish the story behind this presentation but he must have performed his duty bravely to have been presented with this substantial piece. Some minor dents noted.

The 11th Hussars were deployed to France in August 1914 as part of the 1st Cavalry Brigade and as such participated in the first struggles of the war. Loose letters and hand drawn maps included. 18th-19th Century OTTOMAN Period bronze tray with a set of four ornate figural handled bowls with superb articulated fish centres on spindles. Believed to be from Ottoman Bathhouse culture and to be used as ablution / cleansing bowls. The centre spindles should have small bird shaped finial but these have sadly flown. The tray measures 29cm across each bowl having a diameter of 12cm. A very attractive, scarce piece indeed.
