Lot 108
An interesting collection of items and ephemera from the effects of Captain Barton REME. Captain Barton served in WWII with the allied forces occupation of Japan shortly after the dropping of the Hiroshima bomb and include his swagger stick, a cased Beck marching compass, a broad arrow marked Chesterman of Sheffield steel 20ft tape measure, field service pocket book, 1945 US 6th army map of Kure prefecture HIROSHIMA, an original information book to occupation forces with an overview of how to interact with the Japanese people and a selection of Japanese currency. Captain Barton was an engineer and interestingly has returned with a cased Japanese YEW ampmeter. A fascinating lot.

A cased Most Excellent Order of the British Empire medal with a George VI signed and framed certificate to Lieutenant Colonel William Tattnall of the Salvation Army awarded 1946. Includes a photocopy of the War Cry 1957 outlining William's war service. During the war he gave comfort to the troops returning after Dunkirk and subsequently served throughout the Blitz in London. Also 2 cased hallmarked silver long service awards.

WWII military Third Reich “Reserve Hat Ruh” (At Rest Reserve) Rosette Badge. Multi-piece rayon and pressed carboard construction. Does have some understandable wear. The yellow ribbon reads: “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit” (for remembrance of my service time), has a glued-on Panzer standard flag cardboard piece to the center and has a dyed flower and leaf design to the bottom. With reverse safety pin is missing. A rare piece.
