This very RARE and unique Byzantine gold Solidus depicts Theodosius ll, Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire on the obverse and a wedding scene on the reverse.
It was struck in 437 CE to commemorate the marriage of Theodosius ll's daughter, Licinia Eudoxia, to the Western Emperor Valentinian lll.
This beautiful coin weighs 4.37grams (approx) and dimensions 20mm diameter at its widest point.
