The Atlas volume of the 1897 LIFE OF NAPOLEON by Baron Jomini. A wonderful original volume of over 55 Maps bound in blue cloth. Scarce to find, original complete volume of the maps that accompanied Jomini's two volume History of Napoleon. Each map measures 23cm x 21cm.

A suitcase stuffed with a huge family correspondence lot, Late Victorian era onwards but mostly pre WWII. Mostly addressed to MRS MASON MACFARLANE the wife of Noel Mason-MacFarlane who served as Governor of Gibraltar during WWII. Interesting covers, cancels etc. She was a member of the PITMAN family (of short hand fame) and a relative of the WWI General whose WWI diaries are also being offered in another lot in this auction. Much of interest and worthy of further research. Some original Newspapers are included.

Local PEEBLES INTEREST, Crockett was from Penicuik and moved toTorwood in Bonnington Road in Peebles hence the internal dedication. Volume in good condition with strong spine and boards, uncut edges, some foxing noted, all illustrations present.
